TVGC PROJECTS

Farmer's Market - The club hosts a stall at the Hillsboro Farmers Market, Downtown Hillsboro, every Saturday May to October 8:00am to 1:30pm.  Club members are afforded the opportunity to sell your plants and produce from the TVGC Farmer’s Market spaces. We are also featuring $5/tool sharpening at the 2023 Markets during June and July and the last 2 Saturdays of October.

For more information, contact a club officer or come down to the market.

Annual Pruning Demonstration - Tualatin Valley Garden Club and the OSU Extension Master Gardener Chapter in Washington County will host a free, public pruning demonstration annually in February. The annual event features several learning stations for hands-on practice on fruit trees, grapes, blueberries, rhododendrons and other ornamentals. Participants may ask questions, practice pruning on mature plants, and learn tool care from experienced gardeners.

For more information, contact hosts Dave and Lucinda Russell, 503-648-4236.

Lloyd Baron Rhododendron Garden - Our club members maintain this cherished community treasure with volunteers meeting most Monday mornings for upkeep. Visit our CALENDAR PAGE for details, or contact a club officer.

Club Demonstration Garden - Club volunteers maintain a lovely garden plot at Sonrise Community Garden in Hillsboro. For more information, contact a club officer.

Annual Plant Sale - Some years, Tualatin Valley Garden Club hosts an Annual Plant Sale the last weekend in April. For more information, contact a club officer.

Other Club Fun  - In summer we have a strawberry feed, watermelon feed, garden tours, a picnic at the Lloyd Baron Rhododendron Garden at Rood Bridge Park, and sometimes kayaking on the Tualatin river at Cook Park in Tigard. In September, we have a friendly inter-club competition for the best flowers, fruit and vegetables at our annual Fall Harvest Festival. And December brings a potluck dinner.

Every month without a special event features a monthly club meeting (always the 3rd Monday of the month) with presenters who speak on various garden-themed subjects.

We also support and participate in related community events, and have a monthly garden photo contest. Our Newsletter, The Compost Scoop, features interviews with members, photos and information on all our activities, gardening tips, recipes, links to critical garden resources, and more! Sign up by emailing your preferred email address to tvgclub@gmail.com .
